  • Judgment

    He ran behind the wall hoping it would take the brunt of the blast. He waited there in resignation for the explosion. He knew others were going to die, but his survival was the only thing on his mind at that moment. He braced himself, the waiting was agony, and time was torturing him as he suddenly became aware of the rough chalky texture of the wall.

    He could hear whistles and people running past him. Every face had the same fearful, worried, panicked expression. For a second he thought about running as well, but he knew the barrier of the rough wall was his only salvation now.

    The sweat ran profusely down his face. The sun was close that day. He pressed both of his hands on the wall. He grit his teeth and braced his legs. The only thing he could hear was the beating of his own heart.

    The time had finally come…
