“No! You must not enter the forest!” The old man was yelling at Jack in a frightful tone, and Jack finally backed off. Jack walked back into town. Seeing a small café he went in and sat down. Soon a waitress walked up to him, and in a cold voice asked what he wanted. Jack looked at her for a moment then asked for some coffee. The waitress, without saying a word, turned around and walked off. Jack sat there wondering how he was going to get into the forest. The waitress returned with Jack’s coffee, spilling it as she carelessly placed it on the table. Jack took a sip and almost spit it out, not only was it strong and bitter, but it was cold.
Jack threw 3 bucks down on the table and left the café. He decided to return to the forest to see if maybe the old man had gone. When he got to the edge of the forest he noticed a lot of people standing around. Jack casually walked over to see what they were doing, and on the ground he could see the old man dead.
Without anyone even noticing him, Jack turned and waked into the forest.
