Haiku’s from my 1st and 4th period senior English classes.
These 5 students’ poems were the best:
****Alex:
A storm is brewing / night bestows itself upon / the glorious earth
The truth is out there / swimming in a sea of lies / waiting to be found
****Ben:
Fragrant red blossoms / swirls of different colors / like a galaxy
Piercing through the clouds / like the prince of light striving / to match the heavens
Leagues under the sea / fluorescent fish swimming in / vibrant toned coral
Below shallow sod / beneath the solid bedrock / mighty caverns lie
****Stuart:
I see the chaos / who are we? what can we do? / Just open your heart
A fire that cleans / all the sin from the forest / to start a new day
Different faces / walk along worn out places / going nowhere fast
****Lauren:
Feline creatures roam / they move in a stealth like mode / they pounce on the bug
The different mood / the nervously awkward face / today’s the first day
****Jon:
In the field of fun / people run around loudly / others are blooming
****The following poems (by various students) made me smile:
People say haiku’s / are easy, but they are not / they are very hard
I went to Nordstrom’s / and bought a pair of black shoes / I really like shoes
I just got a car / he looks purple at nighttime / I have named him Steve
It’s the last poem / just in time for the lunch bell / I’m not proud of this
